Dr. Saeed Al Dhaheri, PhD (Bio Engineering), brings with him a rich experience of more than 25 years in academics, leadership and advisory roles in public and private sectors. A former IT Advisor to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaheri was also a former Director General of Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA), and played a significant role in developing the UAE national smart ID card project.
He started his career as a teaching assistance with the UAE University in 1987 and went on to become the first Emirati from the UAE to be selected in International Space Programme in the US, which was sponsored by NASA in 1988.
Dhaheri was IT advisor to Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) from 2003-2004 and advised several federal and local government organizations in their e-government/smart government initiatives. He was also the lead assessor for the Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP) for the electronic distinguished department for the years 2005, 2006 and 2008.
